Programs:
Our childcare center cares for children from 6 weeks to 5 years old, and we also provide an after-school program for children up to 12 years old. We are licensed for 40 children. Inspired by Montessori and nature-based learning, we have 7 full-time teachers, 2 part-time teachers, and 1 substitute teacher.
Our center features a beautiful, large backyard that offers all children, from infants to preschoolers, the opportunity to explore, investigate, and challenge themselves. I expect every class to go outdoors at least once a day for 30 minutes to an hour. Our preschool classrooms typically spend over an hour outside each day.
Our motto at Miss Patty's is "Every child's second home." Each teacher has created a comforting, home-like classroom environment. We prioritize parent communication through ClassDojo, email, texting, Facebook, and Instagram. This strong communication often leads to close relationships with the families who become part of the Miss Patty's community, setting us apart from other centers.
Infant Program:
Our infant classroom has a monthly curriculum that my teachers make, depending on the children's needs and development, along with caring for their basic daily needs and getting them on a school schedule. Once they have gotten on a schedule my teachers will then focus on the bigger things, such as fine, gross, cognitive development, language- i.e: sign language , math- i.e: 1:1 correspondence , science- i.e: animal sounds, sensory play, and creative arts.
Toddler Program:
Our toddler classroom has a monthly curriculum that my teachers make, depending on the children's needs and development, along with caring for their basic daily needs. Their monthly curriculum touches upon many subject and development areas such as: language/writing/reading i.e: sign language, math i.e: 1:1 correspondence, shapes, colors, science i.e: animal sounds, experiments, etc., gross motor, fine motor, creative arts, and sensory play.
Preschool Program:
Our preschool classroom has a monthly curriculum that my teachers make, depending on the children's needs and development, along with caring for their basic daily needs. Their monthly curriculum touches upon many subject and development areas such as: language/writing/reading, math, science, motor I.e.: fine and gross motor, creative arts, sensory play, and social studies. The main goal of our preschool program is to get the children kindergarten ready: independent and socially and emotionally ready. We focus on life skills such as cleaning, baking, use of microwave, confidently use a bathroom, write their name, problem solving, etc. By the time these children leave our care they are more than ready to go off to kindergarten.
After School Program:
Our after school program runs from 3:30-5pm for children from 5 years old to 12 years old.
